The Isfahan carpets from the city of the same name, which the Persians liken as half the beauty of the world, are among the most remarkable. They are woven with silk or cotton warps and in the weft they use silk and a type of specially treated wool called Kork. With up to 1,000,000 knots/m2, it makes them some of the best carpets in the world and buying them is a real investment. Their designs are inspired by traditional motifs that decorate the historic buildings of this city, by the poets of Persia, by nature and the religious spiritual traditions that are deeply rooted in their culture. The colors in their background are mainly light beige, while in the borders or in the center which is usually in the shape of a medallion they use red and blue.
